Dr Ishita Batta

MBBS, FRACP, Grad Dip (Geriatric Oncology), G ChPOM (Periop Medicine)

Dr. Batta is a Geriatrician with special interest in Memory disorders, Perioperative care, and Geriatric oncology. She completed her Basic physician training from Tasmania, her Specialist Geriatric training here in Adelaide and has experience working across different health networks. She works as a Staff Specialist and is  the  Head of the Department of Geriatric Medicine at Royal Adelaide Hospital. She is also a Clinical Investigator at the RAH Memory trials unit and is passionate about Dementia research. Dr Batta has accreditation with Calvary North Adelaide hospital and provides private perioperative services.
Outside of work, her two kids keep her busy and she loves to read and paint.

Dr Tanaya Singh

MBBS, MD, FRACP,
M (Clinical Education)

Dr. Singh completed her Graduate and Postgraduate studies in General Medicine in India and then completed her Specialist Geriatric Medicine training in Australia to become one of specialised the Geriatricians in Adelaide. She has been practicing medicine in Australia since 2007 and has been a Staff Specialist at the Lyell McEwin and Modbury Hospitals since 2017. She does assessments for memory, falls, polypharmacy and multi-morbidity. Her special interests also include Perioperative Medicine and Medical Education.

Dr. Shoba Iyer

MBBS, FRACP
Geriatrician

Dr Shoba Iyer graduated from the University of Adelaide in 1997. She completed her basic physician training in 2002 at the Lyell McEwin Hospital. She moved to Sydney after this to complete her geriatrics training. She was based at Concord Hospital in Sydney. On returning to Adelaide, she worked from 2011 to 2014 at the Royal Adelaide Hospital. Shoba started working in private practice in 2013, and entered full-time private practice in 2014.

Shoba has over 10 years of experience in private practice in geriatrics and has worked in a number of medical centres. Her areas of interest include memory disorders in the elderly, treatment of dementia, delirium in the elderly, polypharmacy and rehabilitation in the elderly.

Dr. David Yu

MD, FRACP, MHLM

Dr David Yu is a Geriatrician appointed as a staff specialist with the Department of Geriatric and Rehabilitation Medicine at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and is a clinical title holder at the School of Medicine, University of Adelaide. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine through the American Board of Internal Medicine.

His clinical interests include comprehensive geriatric assessments addressing complex geriatric syndromes and providing holistic and personalised management plans in various settings. His career interests include seeking value in geriatric medicine and propagating geriatric values and principles.

Dr. Shirantha Adikari

Consultant Geriatrician, FRACP

Dr. Shirantha Adikari is a Consultant Physician specializing in Geriatric Medicine, with a wealth of experience in both hospital and community care since 1996. His extensive career spans various health networks across Australia, New Zealand, and Sri Lanka.

Shirantha has over a decade of experience in care of the elderly and has managed all Geriatric syndromes. He has a special interest in Geriatric Pharmacology, Dementia, Delirium, Orthogeriatric care, and Parkinson’s disease. Furthermore, he brings a wealth of experience in General Medicine, Rehabilitation Medicine, and Clinical Pharmacology, coupled with involvement in clinical research focused on Diabetes and Metabolism.

Throughout his career, Shirantha has practiced in diverse health centres, including locations in Sri Lanka, Auckland, Sydney, Adelaide, Cairns, and Melbourne. Committed to advocating for the elderly, he is passionate about providing personalized and holistic patient care, emphasizing shared decision-making.

Dr Dhiraj Saini

My name is Dr Dhiraj Saini. I am a dedicated and experienced Geriatrician with over 10 years of practice, and a passion for improving the quality of life for elderly patients. Holding qualifications of MBBS, FRACP, MRCP(UK) and FRCP (Edinburgh), my extensive experience and expertise are focused on several key areas of geriatric care.

Specializations

  • Cognitive Diagnosis and Management: I specialize in the assessment and treatment of cognitive disorders, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and personalized care.
  • Frailty Assessment and Management: My approach to frailty involves detailed evaluations and tailored management plans to support the health and well-being of my patients.
  • Peri-operative and Orthogeriatric Care: I provide expert care for elderly patients undergoing surgery, with a focus on optimizing outcomes and promoting recovery.

Special Interests

One of my significant areas of interest is Parkinson’s Disease. I am dedicated to managing both the motor and non-motor symptoms associated with this condition, helping patients maintain their independence and quality of life.

Dr Dhiraj Saini

Geriatrician
MD, FRACP

Dr Adeloisa Pajaro completed her training in Geriatric and General Medicine in Adelaide and is currently a Staff Specialist/ Geriatrician at the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (Flinders Medical Centre, Noarlunga Hospital and Repat Health Precinct).  She is also an Associate Lecturer in the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University.  She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Geriatric and General Medicine, and a member of the Australian & New Zealand Society for Geriatric Medicine.

Her areas of interest include comprehensive geriatric assessment, cognitive assessment, dementia, complex medical care, polypharmacy, and falls prevention and assessment.  She is a strong advocate for healthy ageing and improving the quality of life of older adults, upholding their dignity and promoting person-centred care.
